Doctor Who - New series

7th October 2018 UK will be the screening date of the first new doctore who, with a female doctor.
I am really looking forward to it. I always like a new season of Doctor Who espically with a new Doctor, but this season has that extra exctiment with it being a woman.

As writer, I am interested how the story lines and character dynamics will change or not change.
Do you change dynamics of the way the Doctor interacts with everyone due to gender, or do you keep it the same.

If the writers make too much out of the change of gender, does it become sexist or boring. Or by not changing things around does not embrace the fact the Doctor is different.

I wouldn't want the show to get bogged down in the change of gender. Any story should be about the characters. So it is this new Doctor's character that should be the focus and part of that will be their gender, but it shouldn't be the full focus.

I expect there to be moments in this season when it becomes the focus. Probably when the Doctor meets old friends.

Let's see how it plays out. I wondered how I would write it and I realise when a hughe challenge it would be to get the balance right.
